Time to Power Up!

Power Up is a ground-breaking initiative aiming to break down and remove structural and systematic racism and injustices affecting talented UK based Black music creators and industry professionals from progressing their careers and accelerate change for a more equitable and representative music industry.

Power Up offers grants of up to £15k to music creators and up to £10k to industry executives to remove barriers to long term career development and success.

Managed by PRS Foundation, the UK’s leading charitable funder of new music and talent development, in partnership with YouTube Music, Beggars Group and the Black Music Coalition and with support from AIM, BPI, The Featured Artist Coalition (FAC), The Ivors Academy, The Music Managers Forum, Music Producers Guild, The Musicians’ Union, PPL, PRS for Music and the PRS Members’ Fund.

John Logan, PRS Members’ Fund General Secretary, said:

‘We are very proud to be part of the Foundation’s new Power Up initiative and offer support to Black music creators and industry professionals through the Members’ Fund’s health and wellbeing schemes. This is a much-needed step to create real opportunities for talented Black creatives and those who wish to build a career in the music industry but face discrimination and bigotry.’
