Health and Wellbeing Month – Help Musicians UK

Last week our friends over at Help Musicians UK launched their Health and Wellbeing Month, in conjunction with BAPAM and the Musicians’ Union, focusing on addressing the feedback from their 2015 survey of musicians and their needs.

Now in its fourth year, HMUK are partnering with the Musicians’ Union and BAPAM with the aim of providing help and advice workshops right across the UK. Each organisation will bring their own focusses, priorities and expertise, all with the aim of creating a beneficial, complimentary and practical Health & Wellbeing Month for the music community in the UK.

HMUK themselves launched their Musicians’ Hearing Health Scheme, a ground breaking new partnership with Musicians’ Union and Musicians’ Hearing Services, giving all professional musicians in the UK affordable access to specialist hearing assessments and protection. The scheme costs a one-off payment of £40 (£30 for Musicians’ Union members), and includes assessment and hearing protection worth over £300. To find out about workshops throughout the month in your area head to the Health and Wellbeing page here, and to see whether you’re eligible for the hearing protection scheme, and for deatils on how to apply, make sure you click this.
