Jermaine J Hurley is a founding member of Hacktivist, a pioneering UK band that fuses rap, metal, and grime to electrifying effect.
From those early DIY days to touring internationally with the likes of Korn, Jermaine has lived the highs and the hidden hardships of a working music creator. Despite success on stage, behind the scenes, the challenges were very real. During the COVID-19 pandemic, everything came to a halt. With live shows cancelled and work on hold, Jermaine was living in a YMCA flat, struggling to provide for his children.
That’s when he discovered the PRS Members’ Fund. After spotting an email from the Fund, he reached out — and the support he received became a turning point.
Today, Jermaine continues to grow as an artist and as a father. Now a vocal advocate for the Fund, Jermaine encourages fellow creators to seek out help when they need it.
His story is a testament to creative resilience and the transformative power of timely support — the kind of support the PRS Members’ Fund was built to provide.
