Shetland Artists' Retreat

In celebration of pioneering electronic music composer, Daphne Oram’s Centenary, the Oram Awards and the PRS Members’ Fund are launching a new initiative to past and present winners of the awards to support mental health and wellbeing.

The joint program will offer 10 Oram artists, who are eligible PRS members, a flat rate bursary of £500 per person to facilitate a stay at The Weaving Shed Gallery and Airbnb between November 2025 and March 2026.

What’s included:

  • A maximum stay of two weeks
  • Sole use of the one-bed airbnb (free of charge)
  • Use of the gallery space to set up a studio set up (PA provided)
  • Gallery space can be used to create, rehearse work and perform work
  • Opportunity to perform or run a workshop for the local community in the gallery space.

 

Points to Note:

  • Applications will be dealt with on a first come first served basis
  • No further costs will be covered
  • Evidence of booking required
  • Reimbursement will be made on production of travel booking confirmation
  • Successful applicants will be responsible for all insurance
  • An evaluation form will be requested post-break.

Eligibility criteria

  • You must have been a member of PRS for Music for 7 years or have earned £500 in royalties
  • Funding available for Oram Award alumni only
  • You could not otherwise afford a short break.
